Adekunle Ajasin University is a state-owned institution located in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria.
It was initially established as Obafemi Awolowo University in March 1982 by the former Ondo State government.
Later, it was renamed Ondo State University by Commodore Michael Bamidele Otiko, a former Military Governor of Ondo State.
On December 1, 1999, the university was renamed Adekunle Ajasin University to honor the late Governor Ajasin, a former governor of Ondo State.
