UNIBEN Aggregate Score for all Courses

The UNIBEN aggregate score is the total score used to determine candidates eligibility for admission into their chosen course of study.

It is calculated by combining a candidate’s JAMB UTME score and POST UTME score, following a 50:50 system.

This means:

• JAMB UTME contributes 50% to your aggregate score (your JAMB score is divided by 8).
• POST UTME contributes 50% to your aggregate score (your POST UTME score is divided by 2).

The sum of these two results gives your final aggregate score, which is then compared to the cutoff mark for your selected course to determine your chances of admission.

Your aggregate score must meet or exceed the departmental cutoff mark for your chosen course.

The higher your aggregate score, the higher your chances of admission.

Some courses (like medicine, law, nursing, pharmacy, and computer science) are highly competitive, meaning even with a good aggregate score, you may face stiff competition from other applicants with higher scores.

So meeting or exceeding your departmental aggregate score doesn’t mean that you would automatically be given admission; there are other factors that can come into play hindering your admission even if you meet or exceed the set-aside aggregate cutoff mark for your choice of course at UNIBEN.

One of those things is the competitiveness of that particular course, like the ones listed above.

Thousands of applicants apply to that same course with good scores also, so the aggregate score is just used to rank applicants for a particular course, and you know it is not everyone that can be admitted based on the limited quota set aside by JAMB and the school.

So in essence, getting a high aggregate score is not a guarantee for admission; it’s just an edge over others.

Factors That Can Affect Your Admission Chances in UNIBEN

Your Aggregate Score

Your aggregate score must meet or exceed the departmental cutoff mark for your chosen course. The higher your score, the better your chances.

Competition for the Course

Some courses (like medicine, law, nursing, pharmacy, computer science, and engineering) are highly competitive, meaning even with a good score, you may face strong competition from other applicants with higher scores.

Departmental Cutoff Marks
