North-Eastern University, formerly known as Pen Resource University, is a privately owned university located along Bauchi–Gombe Road, Gombe State, Nigeria. It holds the honor of being the first private university in Gombe State and the third in the entire North-Eastern region of Nigeria.
The institution was initially established on 6th April 2022 as Pen Resource University. However, on 4th March 2024, it officially changed its name to North-Eastern University, reflecting its broader vision of providing quality education for students in the North-East and across Nigeria.
At present, North-Eastern University has four faculties and offers twenty-seven undergraduate programs across diverse fields. These faculties cover arts, social sciences, law, computing, engineering, and medical sciences, giving students multiple pathways to academic and professional development.
