M.A. Yoruba Literature & Culture
Candidates seeking admission into the M.A. Yoruba Literature and Culture programme must possess any of the following qualifications from Lagos State University or other institutions recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Yoruba (not below Second Class Division).
A Bachelor’s Degree in Yoruba or Yoruba Education, provided all core courses were taken and passed.
A B.A. in Yoruba Communication Arts.
Candidates will be required to take a qualifying examination to determine their suitability for the programme.
Duration: Minimum of four (4) semesters and maximum of six (6) semesters.

M.A. History and Diplomacy
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
A good Bachelor’s degree in History and International Studies from Lagos State University (not below Second Class Lower Division).
A Bachelor’s degree in History or its variants from any other university recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University.
A Bachelor’s degree in Humanities or Social Sciences deemed acceptable by the Department and Senate.
Five (5) credit passes at ‘O’ Level, including English and History or Government.
Candidates must pass a written essay qualifying examination administered by the University.
Duration: Minimum of four (4) semesters and maximum of six (6) semesters (the final semester is dedicated to dissertation writing).
Master’s in International Relations and Strategic Studies (MIRSS)
To be eligible for admission into the MIRSS programme, candidates must possess one of the following:
A Second Class Lower Division Bachelor’s Degree from Lagos State University or any other university recognized by the Senate.
A Higher National Diploma (Upper Credit) or its equivalent, along with a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Relations and Strategic Studies from Lagos State University.
A Third Class Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university, along with a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Relations and Strategic Studies from Lagos State University.
Five (5) credit passes at ‘O’ Level, including English.
Candidates must pass a qualifying examination administered by the University.
Duration: Minimum of six (6) semesters and maximum of eight (8) semesters.
Post-Graduate Diploma in International Relations and Strategic Studies (PGDIRSS)
Admission requirements for the PGDIRSS programme include:
A Third Class Bachelor’s Degree in History and International Studies from Lagos State University.
A Third Class Degree in History or its variants from any other university recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University.
A Third Class Degree in Humanities or Social Sciences, as deemed acceptable by the Department and Senate.
