Differences Between JAMB Admission And School Admission
JAMB Admission:
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board – JAMB is a body regulating admission process across all tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
This body acts as a central Admission processing system.
JAMB offers candidates admission based on the criteria and requirements set by each school.
JAMB have the names and scores of all UTME candidates and those who meet the admission requirements of both the school and JAMB will be selected for admission based on the list sent by the school.

Since the introduction of JAMB CAPS Schools ( Universities, Polytechnics & Colleges of Education ) are required to submit list of admitted student to JAMB for Upload.
This means that JAMB cannot offer any candidates admission without the school sending the names of aspirants considered for admission
School’s Admission
Upon conclusion of all necessary Exam – Post UTME , Schools are meant to collect and submit the names of qualified candidates to jamb by following the admission quota has stated by jamb.
In some situations, a person’s name might appear on the school’s admission list, while their CAPS status still shows “Not Admitted.”
This can happen if the school has exceeded the quota set by JAMB or if the person did not meet the necessary JAMB requirements.
Jamb will only issue admission letter to all candidates submitted by the school.
In summary, the difference between Jamb Admission list and School Admission list is that, Jamb Admission list is from the list sent to Jamb by the school, while school’s admission list is gotten after collecting names of Student that participate in their Post Utme , and grading them with their Aggregate score.
JAMB Admission and School Admission Which Is More Important?
Both Admission are Equally Important, If you were admitted by JAMB then it will certainly reflect on your School Admission portal and vice versa.
For those who may find themselves in the reverse situation, (i.e, finding your name on your schools Admission list but not on JAMB CAPs), probably JAMB is yet to upload you name on CAPs , just keep checking you JAMB CAPs profile .

There is essentially no difference between JAMB admission and school admission.
However, for a candidate to print their admission letter, pay the acceptance fee, and register as an official student, they must receive admission offers from both JAMB and the school.
